A new bus for Dial-a-Ride

Local area meeting attendees & Dial-a-Ride drivers got the chance to see the latest in accessible minibus design at a one day consultation event in central London in January.

Passengers from across the Capital & drivers representing all the Dial-a-Ride depots were there to help assess bids from four shortlisted manufactures to provide new minibuses for the next few years.

Designs were assessed on their ease of access & use for passengers & drivers. The marks collected from part of a procurement project that will eventually award a contract to supply up to 90 vehicles between 2013 & 2018.

The Dial-a-Ride  fleet renewal programme aims to enhance passengers' journey experience & London's air quality by replacing older vehicles with more environmentally friendly ones.

Zeedy Thompson from Haringey & Mary Grant from Waltham Forest were old friends who had not seen each other in twenty years before reuniting at the vehicle consultation event.
